I’ve been voted ‘most likely to start a post with – I love…’

But the Lichtenstein: A Retrospective exhibition at Tate Modern elicited a mere ‘meh’ from me.

The paintings are everything you ever needed to know about Roy Lichtenstein. But the story, the magic is sadly missing.

Even then Lichtenstein turns out to be a fascinating artist who, considering he was one of leading figures of the Pop Art movement, is self-effacing and charmingly down-to-earth.
Here’s a video that features most of the works in the exhibition, minus the standard ‘walk around the gallery to elevator music‘ spiel.
